And we have... more snow!

Now that it's warmed up to the 0F range, we get to have MORE SNOW!  4" accumulated so far, with 4-6" expected by tomorrow morning. Then it may or may not stop snowing long enough to work if we can drive/trudge through the new drifts.  I think Mom Nature is making up for the lack of snow last year :)

I can't figure out your Weather Underground app. At 5:11 your time, it's showing a temp of +18 F. Surely it's not that warm that early in the AM? I guess th heat that you get from the sun is pretty small tho'.

No Quinton, Weather Underground is mostly accurate, we're currently at about 20F here...

Been a warm night :)

Well, here in N.E.OK we had 10" (more in other areas) on Tues and another 1.5" today and smidge more Sun., Tue., and Wed. This is actually the most snow at one event I have witnessed in 54 yrs. Granted, 43 of those years were in TX where it is said that if God had meant for Texans to snow ski he would have made bull s**t white. :~0

Ooh, heat wave :). Question: It seems like it snows MORE where you are when it's relatively warmer? Is that correct? Jennifer

Yes that's correct.

When its high pressure the temperature is lower, and the air dryer. When its low pressure, the temperature is higher, and the air "wetter". Where the two mix, you get snow (or rain if it's enough above freezing).

Normally this also happens in the lower 48 in winter. High pressure makes it colder (clear frosty nights), low pressure makes it warmer (grey cloudy and snowy), but with rain/snow, just that the temperature variances are not normally quite as extreme.

Thanks, Gungnir for the weather lesson. I'm re-learning all Daddy tried to teach me. Jennifer
